SEND Information Report

Who to talk to if your child has special educational needs

The progress of every child is carefully monitored throughout their time at Bedmond Academy and intervention is put in at the earliest stage of difficulty in any area of learning. If you think your child may have special educational needs, please contact your child’s class teacher, who will liaise with our school’s SENDCo, Miss Grant or Miss Wiegman. A child with special educational needs may have a learning difficulty or disability that makes it more difficult for them to learn than other children their age. There are four main need types of SEND; cognition and learning, Communication and Interaction, Social, Emotional, Mental Health and/or a Physical Need.

School staff work together with parents, carers, support staff and external professionals to help any child who is in need of additional support. We may also seek your co-operation in calling for additional help for your child from resources outside the school, should the need arise.

You may contact the school office at any point to make an appointment to meet with your child’s class teacher or with the school SENDCo.
